Sign Up FreeBrands Hatch Indy presents a demanding blend of elevation changes and rapid direction changes. Precision is paramount to navigating its tight sequence of corners and flowing bends effectively.
Setup Focus
- Stiffer suspension to handle the quick direction changes and minimize body roll.
- Good aerodynamic balance for stability in the fast Paddock Hill Bend and Clearways.
- Brake bias adjustment to account for the downhill braking zones.
Corner Analysis
Paddock Hill Bend
Fast, downhill left-hander
Paddock Hill Bend
VIDEO COMING SOON
Technique
Brake late and trail brake as you turn in. Aim for a late apex to carry maximum speed through the corner and onto the short straight. Be careful not to run wide on exit as the runoff is limited.
Apex Strategy
Late apex, clipping the inside kerb
Druids Hairpin
Tight right-hander followed by a short uphill section

VIDEO COMING SOON
Technique
Brake firmly on approach, downshift to 2nd gear. Get as close to the inside kerb as possible on entry. Accelerate smoothly uphill, being mindful of wheelspin. The exit is crucial for momentum into the next section.
Apex Strategy
Inside kerb on entry, hug the inside on exit
Clearways Corner
Fast right-hander leading onto the start/finish straight
Clearways Corner
VIDEO COMING SOON
Technique
This is a critical corner for lap time. Brake just before the corner, turn in smoothly, and get on the power as early as possible. Use the full width of the track on exit, but be aware of the pit lane entry on the left.
Apex Strategy
Mid-apex, maximizing exit speed

Critical Risks
Common mistakes at this circuit
- ⚠ Paddock Hill Bend runoff is limited, leading to easy contact with barriers if speed is misjudged.
- ⚠ Druids Hairpin can be a bottleneck for overtaking, with potential for contact on entry.
- ⚠ The downhill nature of some sections can make braking points inconsistent, especially in changing conditions.
